Naturopathy
In today’s busy world, it is common for people to neglect their health and make excuses for why they feel so tired and rundown. Many turn to Naturopathic doctors for natural methods to restore their health as they have an imbalance that they want to correct without medications or other forms of invasive treatment.
Many who seek Naturopathic advice report feeling “out of sorts” or “not quite right”. They might be low in energy, have a foggy head, headache, poor concentration, stress, insomnia, hormonal imbalance or a sluggish digestion.
If you are seeking to regain your health, Marc has great success using the Naturopathic model. He uses a scientific background and his training in detoxification, gut repair, nutritional & herbal medicine along with his Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to trigger the body’s innate healing mechanisms in aiding health recovery.
It is Marc’s opinion, that the Naturopathic principles of correcting imbalances, identifying which areas of the body are inflamed or underactive and then systematically alkalising the system to trigger the body’s innate healing mechanisms, provide the cornerstone to health and healing.
Many Naturopaths will prescribe countless herbal and nutritional products making it a very expensive practice and often leaving the client with confusion as to how long they need to take these products for.
Marc believes in minimalism when it comes to treating with Naturopathy. While it is important to address the nervous system and correct nutrient deficiencies, Marc finds that most of this can be done through improving the digestion and eating the right foods (while combining treatment with Acupuncture or Acupressure) rather than excessive supplementation. If there are major nutrient deficiencies that need addressing, he will prescribe or recommend vitamin or mineral supplements sparingly while putting focus on foods that address the problem.
In a consultation, either online or in his clinic, Marc takes an extensive case history asking questions about previous illnesses, medications, medical history and the timeline of the symptoms or dysfunction the client has come in to address. He does not believe in taking people off medications unless given direction by their medical professional. Naturopathy should be a form of “complementary” medicine rather than solely “alternative” health care. In some cases Marc has had medical doctors refer their patients to him to address such issues as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, digestive issues and obesity as they have experienced firsthand the high success rates of his treatment protocols in other patients.
In most cases, Marc sees surgeries and medication as a last resort and part of his role is to provide preventative care so this medical intervention is not necessary.
